Bucket Saturdays at Westport Chiropractic
It’s said that many years ago, before health insurance,
when the world of health care was a little simpler, there
were chiropractors who, instead of keeping an office,
traveled from town to town. They would set up a tent at
the outskirts of town with a bucket by the door. Townspeople
would come for their adjustments. They would leave what
they could afford in the bucket by the door. If they couldn’t
afford anything, they paid nothing. If times were really
hard, they took what they needed from the bucket to get
by. That’s the spirit we’re trying to rekindle
with Bucket Saturdays.
Here’s how it works:
The third Saturday of every month the office will be
open from 8 AM to 9:30 (or later, if necessary). Anyone
can come and get an adjustment with no appointment. There
will be no staff, no one answering the phone, just me.
The suggested donation will be $15 per person and $25
per family. That’s suggested only. You pay what
you choose; less if you can’t afford it, more if
the spirit moves you. All money collected will be donated
to charity.
Here’s the catch:
You can have a health problem and come to Bucket Saturdays,
but I’m not going to treat your problem, I’m
going to treat YOU. If you have a health problem and a
financial problem, we can help you with an Individual
Consideration Contract that will set payment arrangements
you can afford, but we don’t do this on Bucket Saturdays.
You would have to come in during regular hours.
WE WILL NOT BILL ANY INSURANCE FOR TREATMENT ON BUCKET
SATURDAYS. CASH or CHECK ONLY. We also can’t accept
credit cards because there will be no one at the front
desk to process them.
There are two requirements for participating:
1- You must have been to the office for a regular appointment
within the past year- If not you need a regular visit
so I can be aware of any ongoing health condition that
may affect your treatment.
2- You must arrive right at 8:00 AM the first time you
come- Every Bucket Saturday will begin with a 15-minute
talk on Chiropractic, Health and the difference between
Wellness Care and Condition Based Care. You have to hear
it once.
